Each year, Founders recognizes bullpen alumni who had an instrumental impact on the development and success of the firm. This annual tradition coincides with the firm’s anniversary, advisory board meeting and its Annual Crawfish Boil, a party used to say thank you to all past and present employees, clients and friends of Founders. “Our heritage at Founders is rich with customs and traditions, but recognizing the contributions of key employees with the Bullpen Hall of Fame has quickly become the highlight of them all. We understand that our current success is not just a function of today’s efforts, but also of the past efforts of our longtime and alumni team members,” said Duane Donner, Founders Advisors Managing Partner.

This year James Darnell was recognized and inducted into the Founders Bullpen Hall of Fame for being a key figure in Founders’ beginnings. James, one of the first Founders employees, was integral in the formation and foundation of Founders.  James was hired by Duane Donner as an intern when the firm was founded in 2003 and was brought on as a full-time analyst shortly thereafter. During his five years at Founders, James grew with the firm and became a senior associate where he worked on sell-side and buy-side mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, growth financings, and sale leaseback transactions. “We are thankful for James contributions to Founders, and very proud of all his career and personal accomplishments. We look forward to celebrating his future successes,” said Duane.

James is now co-managing partner at KLH Capital, a private equity firm located in Tampa, FL, where he is responsible for leading the firm in identifying, structuring and executing investments along with managing a portfolio of middle market companies.
