Founders Advisors will be moving its home office at the end of the year from its current location on Lakeshore Drive to the corner of Fifth Avenue and 24th Street South in downtown Birmingham. It is a great area, centrally located with easy access to U.S. 280 and is in walking distance of several restaurants and bars, including those in the Lakeview District.
Founder’s principles have partnered with principals of Goodwyn Mills and Cawood (GMC), and the 2400 Fifth Avenue South LLC group to purchase and redevelop the former Hinkle Brothers Co. GMC, which is one of the largest architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast, will also be a major tenant. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.

Built in 1924, the building housed Hinkle Brothers Co., which supplied roofing, sheet metal, and furnaces. It was also formerly home to Cleveland Manufacturing Co., Greeson Auto Top Co., Bonds Brothers Supply Co. and other tenants. The building’s 14- to 16-foot ceilings will allow for the installation of exposed duct work and provide a modern industrial feel. Many historic features will also be preserved in the renovation including exposed brick, wood beam construction, pressed tin ceilings, historic loading doors and others.
