Martin Luther King Jr. Serve Day

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Founders team invested in the local community by serving at two location – Restoration Academy and the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center..

Restoration Academy is a non-profit urban school situated in Fairfield, Alabama whose purpose is to provide the very best to those society often considers “the least of these”. Many of their students come from broken backgrounds of generational fatherlessness, addiction, incarceration, and abuse; they seek to break these cycles through introducing students to a lifestyle of following Jesus Christ and transformational discipleship. Founders served the school by painting the upstairs of the middle school, cleaning up the green space, moving books and school supplies, assisting with our upcoming mail out, and sanitizing all classroom doors

The Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center is a city of Birmingham facility that provides activities and programs in arts, recreation, sports and more for the community. Onsite, the Founders team renovated a classroom that is available for use by the nearby community for workshops and events. During Founders’ day of service, the center hosted an elementary school basketball tournament for which Founders sponsored two teams.
