Founders Advisors Team Members volunteered their time and efforts last month to serve Cornerstone Elementary School.

Cornerstone is a non-profit, K4-12 Christian school for inner-city students of Birmingham. Founded in 1982, the school was established to prevent the cycle of poverty by providing a world-class education to students with no school choice. Their mission has remained constant over the last 25 years, as the school focuses on developing compassionate young people in a Christ-centered learning community committed to academic excellence and character development.

A bi-annual tradition, Founders staff spends one Saturday in July and MLK Day in January aiding local causes in tangible, helpful ways. This year, the crew donated their time to prepare the school to welcome its incoming students and faculty. From cutting the grass, weed eating, and painting classrooms to cleaning up the students’ kickball field, team members were able to provide practical services to the school and the surrounding community while also enjoying spending time with each other outside of the office.

The group ended the day with wings at Moe’s BBQ in Lakeview.
