Meet our Energy and Industrials Board

Dal Miller

Dal Miller is the Chief Executive Officer and President of Inspection Oilfield Services and serves on its Board of Directors. Prior to being named CEO and President in September 2013, Dal was IOS’ Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to joining IOS, Dal was Vice President of North America Operations for Smith Services, a Schlumberger Company, where he was responsible for directing a service network that included 1600 employees and spanned 55 locations. He previously co-owned and led Tubular Technology, a tubular services company based in Lafayette, LA that was sold to Smith International in 2005. Dal also co-owned and led a midstream inspection company, XRI, which was sold to TEAM Industrial Services in 1999.

Dal actively serves on the board for Petrolog International, Tri Parish Bank, and is on the Dean’s Advisory Board for Louisiana State University’s, E.J. Ourso College of Business.

Dal earned a MBA and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Louisiana State University and is a CPA.

Stan Graves

Stan Graves is the CEO of Graco Resources, Inc., which provides natural resources consulting and project development services to the energy, minerals, water and environmental fields.

Stan has over forty years of experience, including serving as CEO of Graves Well Drilling Company, and Vice President at Energen. In 1998, Mr. Graves became President of U.S. Clay, L.P., a company formed to market oilfield and environmental products, which was then sold to W.H. Energy in 2002.

Stan is actively serves on the board of two oilfield service companies, WST (Water Science Technology) based in Bessemer, Al and Central Environmental Services based in Washington, WV. He is also past Chairman of the Board of Innovation Depot and is past Chairman of the Alabama Environmental Management Commission. Other memberships include National Ground Water Association, Board of Directors and President; Auburn University Research Advisory Board; Alabama Geological Society; Alabama Ground Water Association; American Water Works Association; and American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers.

Stan has published articles in the Oil & Gas Journal, the Water Well Journal, the SPE Journal, and other periodicals. He is a graduate of Auburn University.

Max Duncan

Max Duncan serves as the Founder and Manager of Integrity Industries, and a Vice President of Weatherford International. Integrity Industries is a manufacturer of drilling fluid products and specialty chemicals, headquartered in Kingsville, Texas.

Max founded Integrity in 1986 and grew the company to one of the largest independent drilling fluid component manufacturers in the United States. Max continued his role of President through multiple transactions including an initial sale to W.H. Energy who then sold to Smith International in 2008. Max was able to buy the company back in 2008 due to a forced divestiture by the FTC and Department of Commerce under Antitrust regulation. Integrity was then strategically acquired by Weatherford International in 2009.

Max’s entrepreneurial success has led him to invest in many other ventures through his private holding companies, Max Duncan Family Investments and Lonesome Boar, LLC. Some of the operating companies in his portfolio include a frac water recycling business that uses patented technology to recycle frac water and Nature Holdings which uses a patented technology to develop retail products in the hunting and garden space.

Max is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.

D. Paul Sparks

D. Paul Sparks recently retired as the Senior Vice President of Resource Development at Energen Resources Corporation (NYSE:EGN), an oil and gas exploration and production company.

Paul has over 33 years of experience in the industry. During his 27 year career at Energen he served in increasing roles of responsibility. He previously was the Senior Vice President of Operations for 10 years before becoming Senior Vice President of Resource Development. Prior to joining Energen, Paul began his career as a Petroleum Engineer at Amoco Production Company. He has operational experience in numerous domestic and international resource regions.

Paul currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at Medical Properties Trust (NYSE:MPW), was the former Chairman of the News Mexico Oil & Gas Association, and a Director of Independent Petroleum Association of America. He is also a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, Society of Petroleum Engineers, and Sunrise Rotary.

Paul has more than ten publications in various journals and has a patent for stimulation technology of oil and gas wells. He received his Bachelors of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Mississippi State University and was elected a Bagley College of Engineering Fellow in 2005.
