John W. Sullivan, Managing Director at Founders Advisors, is responsible for assisting the group with prospect development, market process management, and coordination of the deal team.
John brings over 20 years of experience in corporate finance and M&A to Founders. John started his career in Equity Research at Bank of America in New York, covering industrials. Then he spent ten years on the buy-side in various roles at Private Equity and Debt firms, sourcing, evaluating, and executing transactions in the middle market. Most recently, John served as a Vice President in the Middle Market Private Equity Group of GE Capital, where he was primarily responsible for managing and overseeing key components of the portfolio, encompassing over 100 companies. John led and directed an investment team of associates and analysts, evaluating potential investments and recommending strategies to management teams. Prior to this role, he held investment-oriented roles at Patriarch Partners, a multibillion-dollar middle market private equity firm, and The Gladstone Companies, a lower middle market debt and equity investment company.
John graduated from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia with a B.S. in Business Administration with Special Attainments in Commerce and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. His securities credentials include Series 79 and 63 securities licenses. John is originally from Mobile, AL, and he and his wife, Anna, a Jackson, MS native, have two kids. They recently moved back South from New York over 5 years ago and love it here.
