Zane P. Tarence

Zane Tarence, Partner and Head of Business Development & Strategic Partnerships for Founders Advisors, is an experienced investment banker, entrepreneur, and recognized expert on growing enterprise value in private companies. Over the past 22 years, Zane has led and completed more than 97 private company transactions.

Zane is a noted speaker with Vistage International, Convene, and within several industry associations and CEO peer groups.  He is the founder of Silicon Y’all Technology Summit and the author of “17 Reasons Your Company Is Not Investment Grade & What To Do About It“. He is passionate about business owner education and adding value to entrepreneurs and business leaders. 

Before joining Founders, Zane founded two technology businesses that he grew and sold to publicly-traded companies, resulting in a keen understanding of the traits necessary to build a valuable company and close an exceptional deal. Zane has more than 25 years of experience as an operator, investor, and dealmaker. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Zane began his career at IBM, where he held roles in four different divisions of IBM over eleven years.  His last position was leading an Internet Consulting practice in the Southeast.

Zane has a master’s in Organizational Management from Southern Christian University and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Auburn University. His securities credentials include series 79, 63 and 24 securities licenses.

Zane currently is a Board member of Aesto Health, Samford University’s Brock School of Business Advisory Board, Lake Homes Realty, Biz Owners Ed, and Digital Media Holdings, Zane is involved with several ministries, including serving on the board of Her Choice Women’s Center and multiple marriage ministries.

A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Zane lives in Birmingham with his wife Jamie and they have three adult daughters, two sons by love, and two granddaughters.
