According to Capital IQ and Founders proprietary sources, there were an estimated 41 transactions involving Alabama companies completed in the second quarter of 2019, which is an increase of 28% in the number of transactions in the same quarter of the previous year. M&A and private placement activity was down 15% quarter over quarter. Transaction activity in the Alabama market is diverse with Healthcare and Industrials representing the top two sectors by volume. Most of the transactions completed in the second quarter of 2019 were sub $30 million in enterprise value.
