Houston M&A Activity Q4 2019

According to Capital IQ and Founders’ proprietary sources, M&A and private placement activity in the fourth quarter of 2019 for the Houston market decreased 33% versus the same quarter in the previous year. Transaction activity in the Houston market continues to be diversified with Energy, Industrials, and Information Technology representing the top three sectors by volume. Overall, there were an estimated 81 transactions involving companies from the Houston area completed in the fourth quarter of 2019. Most of the transactions were sub $250 million in enterprise value; one of the larger transactions was the Cherry Industries sale to Arcosa, Inc.  (NYSE:ACA) for $298 million.
